This cake is one of our typical ‘everyday’ ones and was made for a customer last year by my daughter Joyce Heckel, who decorates cakes in our bakery. She didn’t intend this to be shown to the world <|:-)=

CAKE: Ice entire cake white and airbrushed black on the top..

FIRE RING: formed with before airbrushing spatula

CAKE SIDES: Airbrushed sides orange. ‘Blood’ - lay a pre-made stencil against cake and pipe piping gel in the gaps, remove stencil

TOP BORDER: Pipe white icing, tip 10. Bottom border: pipe white icing, tip 18 shells with Halloween candy sprinkles added. TIP: add sprinkles on each side as you pipe the border, or they won’t stick.

WITCH: Her skirt is cake baked in the Petite Doll cake pan with a doll pick inserted. Face is airbrushed green (you’ll need to go over it several times to get the color to adhere). The ‘stars’ on her skirt are pre-made of fondant icing. (Good use for leftovers!)

WITCH HAT:- chocolate (chocolate witch hat made in witch hat candy mold)

PUMPKIN: Baked in the Mini 3-D pumpkin pan and decorated with orange stars

CAULDRIN: Plastic set (comes with stand)

GUM BALL ‘EYE’ (in pot), RED & YELLOW piping gel ‘fire’

MONSTER BODIES: Figure-piped using tips 4-5-6-7-8 , etc. (more pressure will result in larger figures).

FACES OF MONSTERS: Our tiny sugars

“SAND” OR ‘DIRT’: Is crushed cookies. (We crush our stale cookies to be used for sand, etc.). NEVER use cookies that contain nuts. Someone could be allergic to the nuts!

ROCKs: Around fire ring are candy rock sprinkles

MONSTER FRONT LEFT: Edible sugar head, graham cracker airbrushed black for coffin lid on him

“RIP”: Leaning on graham cracker tombstone was figure-piped with the sugar face added

GRASS: Tip 232

TIPS: To view this cake more closely, enlarge it on your computer. There is a dog on right behind “RIP” see his white figure-piped bone. And a figure-piped ghost left back at border. Please feel free to email me if you have questions.

All sugar faces, plastics & edibles are available from Sugarcraft (513-896-7089 EST), or from other cake decorating supply shops.
