Frosting
sheets and Printer Information
This page assumes you have a printer
and print your own edible images.
One very creative idea is to use
templates
so you can use various borders etc.
You need Photo
Express version 1. Templates come with this software. I've used portions
of several to make my own templates and to add various items from these
pre-made templates onto other pictures. The writing is expecially nice
on the WEDDING template. You can change the writing to your own preferred
message. I've used the balloons on other pictures too.
This template comes with Photo Express |
and I made this. You could also add a border. |
Scrapbook software is another
very convenient software tool when making edible images:

FRAME CAKE USING EDIBLE PRINT
Frame made using our mold
frame.
After applying an edible image to the top of an iced cake, cut one inch strips of chocolate fondant. Press the fondant into an impression mold. (I used a elegant lace impression mold Moisten the back of the strip slightly and apply to the outside border of the edible image. Miter the corners and Viola! An easy, beautiful frame for an edible image portrait! I finished the bottom of my portrait cake with a simple pearl border in matching fondant for a more elegant look. |

Make an IPhone
The edible image can be an effective
use to finish off a replica cake.
For the I-phone Cake, the process was a simple one. Cover a sheet cake in black fondant, and cut out specific images (ie. the buttons, screen) with embroidery scissors and place where it would be positioned on a real phone. Using a damp brush, moisten just the specific areas where image should be applied, and lay the cut pieces carefully in place. When you finish that step, apply a strip of white fondant around the side of the cake and color it with silver luster dust. |

Here is an easy trick for trimming
away the white edge of your Edible Image® Designer Prints™.
Use a pastry wheel cutter with the sharp edge. Cutters are available with one straight edge wheel and one zigzag edge wheel. These are wonderful for cutting the straight edge or adding an optional zigzag pattern to the edges of your Designer Prints™. This way, you can make sure your Designer Print™ is cut evenly (and straightly) on both sides. Alternatively, you can use a ribbon insertion tool with the pointed blade (Item #43381) or an X-Acto type razor knife to trim the ends. You will still need the razor knife for the last cut on the Designer Print™. After you have wrapped the cake and met the strip to the end of the last strip, cut the excess part of the strip while it is on the cake. It's best to make that last cut in an upward motion, so you have a clean even cut that does not pull the Designer Print™ away from the cake. Or, if you have a steady hand, you can just use scissors. |

TIERED BASEBALL CAKE
I do not have specific instructions for Jill's cake. She just said:
Here are a few pictures I took of my finished product using the edible images you printed for me..Thanks you for the extra copies! I think she used real bats for the
columns.
