Sugarcraft will not alter the colors of your photo. But resizing will distort colors. Bad quality or not well focussed snapshots also are a factor. Frosting sheets are a bit yellow to begin with. So, combined with some colors, can change the hue slightly. We find that red sometimes looks brownish. It is better that we don't alter your photo rather than try to change its colors wrongly. We will do our best. Printed on paper, the photo does not print the same as on frosting sheets.

INSTRUCTIONS WHEN SENDING TEXT TO BE PRINTED: Basic computer methods dictate that if the file is in MICROSOFT WORD (or any other software of this type) and you use an odd font, that is not a default True Type Microsoft font, when I open your writing, my computer will find a font that IS available on my computer. I will have no way of knowing that you used another font style and will print what I see. If you DO use an odd font, you must save the file as a PDF and send that. PDF files do not change. Not to be confused! If you are sending a JPG picture containing writing, it does NOT change and will be fine. The only way I can use WORD when I don't have the font is for you to also attach this font and include it in your email.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENDING YOUR PHOTO:

Save (or convert) your scanned image to a .JPG format file.
Scan the picture at 100% of original size. DO NOT enlarge or decrease it's size. I can easily adjust it to fit the frosting sheet without blurring your image.
Please scan your photo at 300x300 dpi. These settings are available from your program scanner screen.
Email the original photo as a JPG picture format to proicer@sugarcraft.com
INVOICE NUMBER MUST BE THE SUBJECT HEADING FOR EMAILED .jpg PHOTO -It is fine for you to name your photo but our filter program may delete your picture IF the invoice number is not included.

PICTURE DETAILS:

We will enlarge your photo print exactly as received with NO alterations.
Your original photo can be black & white, color, OR picture drawing.
Your photo will be returned to you along with the Frosting picture.
We will ABSOLUTELY NOT print any photo that has been purchased from ANY professional photographer WITHOUT a release statement. Most photographers WILL gladly issue a release statement when explained what you intend to do with the reproduction. Send the release statement along with your photograph and we WILL gladly make a Frosting Picture. NOTE: Any signatures or other documentation printed on the photograph WILL not be removed.
The larger or more fine the detail of your original photo, the better quality the Frosting Picture will be. Enlarging a poor quality or TINY photo will NOT produce an image as nice of quality as if you had a larger, better quality photo.
If the original picture has tears or cracks, even a paper clip impression will show on the Frosting Picture.
I < DO NOT > retouch original photos, nor do I alter them. If you want to block out any part of a photo, cut the unwanted part away BEFORE you send it to us or crop it with a piece of paper glued/taped in place.
We use the best quality frosting sheets. We don't anticipate damage to occur, but

IF the Frosting Picture creases: We simply place it on the icing and rub it gently back together and it hardly shows.
We cannot issue refunds for any special printed Frosting Picture.
IF the Frosting Picture won't come off the backing: This can occur during very humid weather conditions. Simply put the Frosting Picture in the microwave on DEFROST for 30 seconds. Do it again for another 30 seconds if it is still sticky. Usually you can expect them to almost fall off the backing!

Your Frosting Picture should be added before the icing crusts. It will seem to be painted on the icing when the cake is served. Easily cut with a cake knife.
Email the original photo as a JPG picture format.
NOTE - MAC USERS... I can only use your emailed photo when it is in IBM PC format!

IS IT LEGAL?

We WILL NOT print any picture sent to us that is copyrighted without explicit WRITTEN permission from the established owner on their letterhead. As you already know, this would be breaking the law. EXAMPLE: a photo taken by a professional photographer or a party plate, napkin etc. I have found that photographers readily give their written permission to print their photos as a Frosting Picture. This permission must be sent to us along with the photo or we WILL NOT print it for you.
It is next-to-impossible to obtain written permission from big companies such as Disney, American Greetings or Lucas Productions (Star Wars), etc., so we simply don't consider doing prints from them at all.
For copyrighted Frosting Pictures, we offer you the pre-made EDIBLE IMAGES. These are preprinted and legal for anyone to use. Copyrighted ones cost more and is paid to the owners of the copyrights by the manufacturer.
CD Music Video Pictures are NOT legal and we WILL NOT print them for you.
Magazine Pictures, front covers, etc. are NOT legal and we WILL NOT print them for you.

If you would like to buy a printer and print the Frosting Pictures yourself, we carry 2 different systems for you. These systems will be drop shipped straight from the manufacturer to you in the fastest possible shipping time that we can manage. These systems are one thing that brings profit back to YOU!
Legally (according to food handling laws), you cannot use real ink and interchange it with food coloring cartridges in the same printer. Use this printer exclusively for frosting sheets/food coloring. Though this printer is also sold in office supply stores for use with real ink cartridges, this one has been altered to receive food coloring instead, and also to print on frosting sheets with thick backing.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
Due to the fragile nature of this product it is best if you understand how to store your picture until you use it. It depends upon how much humidity is in the air as to whether you will possibly have any problem. Most people do not. Please leave your picture in the original packaging until ready to use it.

If the picture is sticky and won't come off the backing, place it in your microwave using DEFROST setting for 1 minute. If it is still sticky repeat this procedure in 30 second increments until it will peel off the backing.

For VERY high humidity areas (such as the rain forest, island communities, or similar areas) you may need to develop your own unique methods. One man who uses a lot of these found that his dry best by placing them open on top of his oven while baking. This is NOT usually needed. But I just want to point out to you that alternatives are possible.

NEVER try to scrape an image off the backing. You will only ruin it. We will not replace it.

You can place an edible image on fondant. Preferably, the background should be white (colored icing pulls color from the image). The area should be moist (you may need to brush a light coating of water onto the fondant) so that the image will adhere.

This product is a new technology. As the technology progresses, quality has improved. And their will be more improvements in the future. You can depend on Sugarcraft to keep up on technological advances.
