EXAMPLE OF WHAT NOT TO DO FOR PRINTED CIRCLES
Tips: Digital pictures that are too small or badly focused will not enlarge clearly.
Please try not to exceed 1 megabyte per picture. JPG/JPEG is the preferred format.

SQUARE PHOTO SENT
If you send a square photo to be made into a circle.
Circle photos-notice the message is too
small to read too!
If you send photo with space around,
we can make a nicer circle.

OBLONG PHOTO SENT
If you send a long narrow
photo to be made into a circle,
at right shows result.

*There needs to be plenty of space around the
photo before it can be formatted to a nice circle.
The dark edge will not be on your photos. The white space around the square cannot be avoided. It is advisable to use your graphics software to make the photo into a circle before you send it. (I use Photo Express graphics software sold here).

BLANK FROSTING SHEETS | LINK FOR PRINTER ETC.
As mentioned on the Martha Stewart show 1/26/2011 and referred to a cost of 48 pictures for $22.29 - they were explaining hat YOU can also print edible pictures yourself. This requires a dedicated printer using edible food colorings instead of ink. There appears to be a discrepancy in costs and it appears that people thought that was a cost we charge for photos we print. I hope this clarifies. The link at left will take you to these sheets.

HOW-TO USE
View Instructions, plus tips and handling instructions.
.
Just peel the backing off the Picture and place on your fresh WHITE iced cake. The picture 'melds' into the icing and when you cut the cake, you won't know it was separate. Colors are vivid and precise. Most pictures fit on any size sheet cake starting with a  9 x 11 inch or 8" round. If using darker color icing, a smear of white icing will need to be placed where the Picture will lay or the color of the icing will bleed through.
.
Storage: Store flat on a shelf tightly sealed in a heavy ziplock bag against drying and cracking, unless using the day it arrives. Light fades so store where light won't hit it for any extended time. The image will keep as long as they aren't dried and cracked/breaking, for up to 2 years.
.
Control: In damp rainy weather, they do pick up moisture from the air and may become sticky. In winter they will dry out quicker. Review Instructions from link: Instructions.
.
NEVER try to force the Picture off the backing! If all else fails, cut the backing off around the picture. Add saran wrap on cake icing and lay Picture on. Add icing frame border.
.
WARNING: Edible pictures are thin and very delicate. The manufacturer does not guarantee them and offers no replacements. Neither can we offer replacement to you. No refunds, No replacements, or Exchanges can be made. We will however, make sure they leave our shop in good condition.

These are NOT printed on frosting sheets. They are printed on old fashioned wafer paper. Of course wafer paper is also edible too.
Wafer paper is stiff. Gret for the projects below, but just awful for photos above.
.
Butterflies: You would make an edible royal icing body, cut out our butterfliesand insert the wings into the body to dry. Add antennae.
They look so real you must observe theem very close o see that they aren't.
.
Leaves: Most prints were made using real leaves. I fold them in the center for more realism for my use. I love using them to decorate my candy boxes and even my show cases in the fall. That buckeye leaf sure enhances boxes of chocolate buckeyes!

Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States to the creators of "original works" including literary works, movies, musical works, sound recordings, paintings, photographs, software, live performances, and television or sound broadcasts. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. The Copyright Act generally gives the owner of copyright the exclusive right to:

    * Reproduce the work;
    * Prepare other works based upon the work ("derivative works");
    * Distribute copies of the work by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by lease;
    * Perform the work publicly; and
    * Display the copyrighted work publicly.

The copyright owner also can authorize others to do all of the above.

Copyright law only covers the particular form or manner in which ideas or information have been manifested, the "form of material expression". It does not cover the actual idea, concepts, facts, or techniques contained in the copyright work.

For example, the copyrighted "Superman" comic books may not be reproduced and distributed for sale without authorization from the copyright owner. The copyright also prohibits others from creating similar works involving the Superman character. However, the copyright does not prohibit anyone from creating a work about a super-human character in general.
